HOW TO SCHEDULE A LEAD SERVICE LINE EVALUATION

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), along with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), is now requiring drinking water service providers to update their records to include the pipe material being used to provide water from the curb into your home or business. This can be copper, galvanized (lead) or poly (plastic) pipe.

If you know the type of pipe material you have coming into your home or business from the curb, you can email us this information along with a picture of the pipe coming into the meter (please see contact info below).  If you are unsure, we can make an appointment with you to have one of our technicians come out and look at the type of pipe that enters your residence. This generally takes 1 to 2 minutes.

You can contact the Hightstown Water Department at 609-490-5117 with your information or any concerns that you may have, or to set up an appointment for us to come out and check the piping for you.  There is, of course, no charge to you.  You can email your information to: water@hightstownborough.com

If you have already submitted a picture or we have been to your home, nothing else is necessary at this time.

I thank you in advance with your help in updating our records.

Sincerely,

Richard Lewis, Jr
